SCARJOV/SAfAIDS/HAMSET Resource Centre - Angola
On 7 August 2008, SAfAIDS in partnership with SCARJOV and Hamset Angola launched an HIV and AIDS Resource Centre located in Kilamba Kiaxi Municipality at the Main ways of Camama - Viana (Calemba 2). This is the first HIV and AIDS information centre in Angola to be established in Angola. The launch was graced by representatives from the Ministry of Health, Hamset, SAfAIDS, and other AIDS Service Organisations.
The Resource Centre is situated in the midst of communities in Kilamba Kiaxi Municipality. From the day it was launched, the Resource Centre continues to receive requests for HIV and AIDS information from communities around this area. The National Television station reported on the Resource Centre when it was launched and has continued to feature it on television for marketing purposes. Schools within the municipality area have requested the Resource Centre to facilitate HIV and AIDS debates in schools and provide materials for the schools.
SCARJOV is a community based organisation whose focus is Youth and Human Rights in Angola.
