Proposals by the Southern African Protocol Alliance on the April 2008 Draft of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development
While the current draft of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development is a considerable improvement on the watered down version that Heads of State sent back for consultation in August 2007, there are still a number of concerns. Many of these centre on the need to align the Protocol with key gains made in international and regional processes so that the Protocol can truly encompass and enhance existing commitments.
