Lesotho Country Consultative Meeting

In August 2006, SAfAIDS, as part of the United States Government's HIV/AIDS Program in Lesotho, embarked on a one-year program entitled "Regional Intervention: Strengthening Capacities of Communities in Prevention, Care, Support and Treatment of HIV/AIDS- Complementing National Efforts".

The programme aims to optimise successful prevention, care, support and treatment (Universal Access) responses, and its goal is to increase ART Community Preparedness among organisations working in HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, Support and Treatment (Universal Access), to complement Government and others' efforts to scale-up ART uptake at community level, creating ART Community Mobilisation and Preparedness across Lesotho. The program thrust, in collaboration with existing efforts, is in the following areas:

- Capacity Development and Skills Building;

- Material and Tools Development for Information Sharing; and

- Promotion of Meaningful Participation and Advocacy through APDs (ART Policy Dialogues)
