Advocacy and Communication Strategy to Support the Implementation of Revised ART, PMTCT and Infant Feeding Guidelines in Zimbabwe, WHO, 2010 - Keeping Up With the World Health Organization: Adopting New Treatment Guidelines

 

In November 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a rapid advice on Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) and Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, including infant feeding, intended to improve HIV prevention and treatment at individual, national and global levels. The Government of Zimbabwe adopted these international guidelines, adapting them for country specific implementation and replacing the previous ART guidelines of 2006 with the release of ‘Guidelines for Antiretroviral Therapy in Zimbabwe, in May 2010.
