Programme Officer (Swaziland)
Southern Africa HIV and AIDS Information Dissemination Service (SAfAIDS) is a regional NGO working in 10 countries in southern Africa. The organisation’s mission is to promote effective and ethical development responses to the epidemic and its impact through HIV knowledge management, capacity development, advocacy, policy analysis and documentation. SAfAIDS is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Programme Officer to join its team in Swaziland. This post requires an all rounder, able to provide programme support in a number of programme areas and able to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Health sciences, Health Education or other relevant field
- At least 6 years experience in HIV programming
- Excellent project management skills including proposal writing and budgetingAn in-depth knowledge of HIV related development issues (gender, SRHR, MCH, TB and OVC) is essential as is integrated programme delivery at community level
- Strong understanding of policy guidance and service provision interventions around HIV and related areas, in Swaziland and in the region
- Strong community mobilization skills
- Excellent writing skills. The incumbent must be able to write such documents as project briefs, project reports, newsletters, scripts for documentaries and conference presentations
- Must have some research experience, basic M & E knowledge and excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience in training and facilitation is essential, as is the ability to design training programmes
- Solid background in managing/utilizing ICT tools, in particular web-based e-discussion
- Fluency in English and siSwati
- Advocacy skills would be a distinct advantage
- Previous work experience in a regional organisation would be an added advantage
