- Invest in intensive programmes targeted at raising awareness of the HIV risks of multiple concurrent partnerships

This Trainer’s Guide on Sex, Sexuality and HIV Prevention for Women, Men and Couples has been developed in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Southern Africa HIV and AIDS Information Dissemination Service (SAfAIDS) and Seke Rural Home Based Care (SRHBC) of Zimbabwe, and is part of a programme to mainstream HIV and AIDS into cultural practices in order to reduce the vulnerability of women and girls in southern Africa to HIV infection .

Circumcision Not Effective in Preventing HIV Among MSM, Study Finds

Despite research showing circumcision can reduce a man's risk of HIV during heterosexual intercourse, a study published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the procedure offers little protection against the virus for men who have sex with men, AFP/Yahoo! News reports.

Use tested means of preventing HIV

HARARE, 13 August 2008 (The Herald) - While hope should be kept alive in finding a cure and possible breakthroughs commended and encouraged, equally major focus should be on the tried and tested means of containing the disease - among them abstinence, faithfulness between partners, the use of condoms and making available AIDS drugs to those living with the virus.

While the world awaits findings from new AIDS prevention trials, millions of people are becoming infected because governments are overlooking studies showing that behavior modification works, AIDS experts said Tuesday.
